The NVENC encoder allows you to use your GPU to encode your stream. If you are using an AMD Graphics Card you will want to use the Software x264 encoder whereas if you’re using an Nvidia graphics card you want to use the NVENC encoder. This gives us a few more options to play with.ĭepending on the graphics card you’re using their is two different options to choose from here for you’re encoder. Settings – Outputįirst you will want to change Output mode to Advanced. Your FPS Type should be set to Common and set your FPS Value to 60 for a smooth stream.

If you decide to use 1080p as your output scaled resolution you should select Bilinear for this option. This is the best option if you are scaling between two resolutions. If viewers are on mobile you will want them to stick around and not just leave because they don’t have the bandwidth for your stream.įor Downscale filter you should select Bicubic (Sharpened scaling, 16 Samples). This means that viewers with slower internet are still able to watch your stream without any lag. While your PC and internet can probably handle 1080p its actually more beneficial to stream in 720p. I would recommend setting your Output Scaled Resolution to 1280×720. If you do play in a higher resolution such as 1440p you can set your base canvas resolution to that but most streamers play their games in 1080p to get higher performance. You’ll generally want to set this to 1920×1080 especially if this is the resolution you’re playing your game in.
